The Coonamessett Inn in Falmouth, Massachusetts, is the perfect place to stay when you are away from home. Our Inn has everything you need to feel comfortable while traveling. Comprised of five separate buildings, we have plenty of room for guests. For instance, our main building, the former Jones residence, boasts three distinctive dining rooms, where some 150 wedding receptions are held every year. The remaining buildings house guestrooms and suites.
The Cape Cod Room
One of our nicest featured rooms is the Cape Cod function room. It is a premier and elegant space that has beautiful brass chandeliers, and Colonial dining room furniture. Additionally, there is full bar service and an expansive dance floor located within.
The Cahoon Room
The Cahoon Room is perhaps the most famous of the three dining areas. Named for Ralph Cahoon, a renowned local folk artist, the room features 18 Cahoon paintings, which display the Inn itself. High vaulted and beamed ceilings give the Cahoon Room dramatic appeal, while the traditional country decor in hues of hunter green and mauve, lend a certain warmth and comfort.
The focal point of the room is the overhead lighting fixtures, which are magnificent hot air balloons crafted of brass and copper. These balloons reflect another key theme in Cahoon's work, and add considerable visual interest to the space.
Additional Rooms & Areas
Like our other spaces, the dining areas and main lobby are also very elegant. They are connected by a glass-enclosed breeze way, which serves as a glorious year-round garden. The seasonal flowers and indoor mirror plantings in the garden are just beyond the glass.
Some of the flowers we that are planted in the space include daffodils and crocuses that burst into color in the breezeway during spring, as well as hydrangea and Queen Anne's lace, which bloom in the summer.
During the Christmas season, we decorate our Inn beautifully. The decorations change yearly, with last year featuring six different regional trees. The trees lined the breezeway and were each trimmed with a different theme, from Americana to fruit. We also displayed a breathtaking tree in the main lobby that sparkled with 75 live poinsettias.
At The Coonamessett Inn, we provide an extraordinary experience for all guests. We have even lodged some famous celebrities, including Marlo Thomas, Phil Donahue, Billy Joel, and Carly Simon, who retreated to the Inn for our fine cuisine, comfortable rooms, and overall quietude.
All room and package rates are subject to state and local taxes. These charges include Massachusetts state tax (5.7%) and Falmouth town tax (4%). Lastly, additional adults (over age 12) in a room will be charged $25 plus tax, per person and night.
